thanks for sharing that sara - it's very interesting to see what people did with their purchases. quite touching really, as i'm sure that if she were still alive it would be a different story for some of the pieces.

(and yes it is still a heart rending to see the pics of her - with her sons particularly, i agree).

....and with her looks, who needed flashy dresses.

i saw her once when she came to our city of Canterbury at the Cathedral....and she was stunning on a wet blistery day.....l saw again later when she left in the car and she never failed to please the crowd...

she was simply delightful....how could he not see how besotted by him she was....because he was besotted with another.....

l have this dress by Jacques Azagury of an 80's evening dress she wore an identical one.....but the pic doesnt do this justice....l cant believe it was off the peg...

Gosh, I can remember exactly where I was when I heard of her death..it is heart rendering.:(

I remember my mother was upset that they preempted General Hospital to show the royal wedding. And I think i remember THAT just as vividly if not more of the actual wedding.

In the past year or so, there was an exhibition featuring her wedding gown, but I was unable to attend.
