Printing of ribboned hang tabs (?), introduced when?

Does anyone know when the fashion industry started printing on the looped ribboned hang tabs (not sure of the proper term)? The Kenzo suit that I posted earlier in the week has printed ones sewn in the skirt that say "Ellca Corporation". I cannot find any info on the company and I think printing on hang tabs was practiced later than late 70s, early 80s.

Your thoughts will be most appreciated!

Thanks

That is a good one....I know embroidered/woven was more common in the earlier tagging years, but you can still find those sometimes. Printed wouldn't have come until post 70s I'd think, when presses became more sophisticated with automatic typesetting, not to mention inking technologies that would allow waterproof printing on a fabric.
Very interesting to think about.
(these are just my meager ramblings with my wee knowledge of printing which mostly applies to paper and graphics)

You talking about printed labels verses embroidered. Bras had printed fabric labels in the 30's 40's.... I would probally guess it was introduced when mass produced clothig came into play because like now a printed tag is cheaper than an embroidered on.
