Seem this morning I am having a problem printing shipping labels from PayPal. I put in priority mail and click package/thick envelope. But everytime I try and continue it keeps asking me for the dimensions but there is no where to put the dimensions in???? This is on a US Shipment.

So then I try first class/parcel post and it says the weight limit is 13 ounces????????? And why whould first class be connected with the same option as parcel post????

Also when I try and print a label for postage to Canda and click international global priority it keeps telling me I picked an invalid service!!

Anyone else having problems like this?

lve tried to in uk..and it isnt consistent, l'm afraid l DO DO a better job...myself just by accessing royal mail site, copying and a pasting..

I 've been using the USPS site for some time. Works well, delivery confirmation is free and it looks like now you will get a discount. I just set up an account that debits my business checking account.

You can do International through the USPS site, but it takes a TON of paper to print out the customs forms.

I honestly don't trust paypal to be any more than a holding spot for my credit card income. I don't leave my money there any longer than I have to.

Susan, looks like you are not alone - there are some posts on the Paypal forum board on Ebay about the same probs
you are having.

I use Paypal for 98% of my online postage and have (touch
wood) never had a problem - but, I'm also mailing from
Canada and Canada Post, so I can't help you out at all
with the new USPS changes and Paypal.

and you mention ups..as an international buyer I wont buy from sellers who use the service as it adds too much to the cost of an item, and l cannot sell it on nor afford it for myself often times, thought l'd just mention it..

Thanks! I do an an account open with USPS but I just prefer to use the PayPal because all the info is already there and you don't have to re-type anything!

Off the check the forum boards.

Yes, I'm having the same problem with shipping priority through paypal. GRRR. I sometimes use the USPS site, but I prefer Paypal because that way I don't have to keep track of my USPS receipts when tax time comes.

First class has always been set up that way. There is a 13 oz weight limit - above that must go parcel post or priority. And they have two different first class categories - first class letter and first class parcel. According to my post office, the categories are treated differently. First class parcel is a lower priority than first class letter, and 1st class parcel might get left behind (to be shipped later) if there isn't enough room on the truck.

This whole changeover has not been coordinated very well....

Here's the fix

Use the 'create multiple lables' option once you are in PayPal. If you have not used it before it is really cool. You enter all the info on one page and it prints all your labels at once. I just printed 9 labels for today.

Well PayPal has now corrected the problems so you can do it the normal way.

I thought multiple labels was only if you were sending the more then one package to the same location??

So did I - I never tried that! Thanks for the tip Marie. But it also looks like now I'll probably use the USPS exclusively so I can get their paltry discount. lol

Hmm...The multiple labels option takes FOREVER and a day to load on my computer, despite my new satellite connection. I gave up on it. :(

But I'm glad to hear that the problem is fixed.

i must admit with paypal offering the postage label service i havent used it ...

as where i live the post offices in small rural villages are closing down.... so i use the post office to weigh and label my items....

to try and save the post office from closing.....

called me old fashioned......but i like to support village independant shops and services.....

You can't get DC on first class postage now unless it is first class parcel. There are restrictions on thickness and size that will push it into parcel, but it appears to me that going through paypal, that is the only option (parcel). It of course costs more.

You can read about the restrictions by clicking on letter and large envelope on the USPS site. With what I shipped today I just went ahead and went with parcel so I could have DC and not worry about whether my packages were "of uniform thickness.
