The 97th Mipel International Leather Goods Show 2010 in Milan - March 2 - 5. With more than 400 exhibitors, it is described as “... the most authoritative trade fair for the leather-goods industry” and “the world’s largest handbag show.”
One thing of interest was the trends reported in one of the press releases (and I hope they’re right about the clutch bag part) .
“The trend for Winter 2010/2011 collections is the clutch bag, which keeps getting smaller, becoming a precious little 'jewelry box' held in the hand and displayed with flair. It is lavishly decorated with fringe, appliqués and even fur."
Alessandra Gucci will be the guest of honor and her new handbag collection, “Chicky chic” will be unveiled. (Unfortunate name in my opinion).
If you miss this show, maybe you can get to the Istanbul Leather Fair Nov. 25 - Nov. 27!
