Puzzled about the age of this cardigan

Really I don't have a clue. No sign of a label anywhere. Seams are straight stitched and unfinished. No serging. Feels like a natural material, maybe a cotton/wool blend.

Yes that was my thought too. The arms seem narrower than typical for the 80s to me, but I don't know.
