question about redying faded thread.

Hi all!

I found this delicious black faille princess coat with a very cool sewn soutache treatment. The thread has faded evenly in sections to a bronze color. Any suggestions as to how I can re-color the areas? I tried using a sharpie marker and it's just not black enough. I don't think dying the whole coat is an option, the lining would have to be removed etc.

Any thoughts? The coat is just too gorgeous to scrap!

Letraset Promarkers are what I'm using to colour my faded rayon dress. Sharpie pens have that iridescent look to the ink which makes it purplish and not true black on anything not paper.

Try a paint pen available in art supply and craft stores. They are several brands and are available in a variety of point thicknesses.
