Question about Townley labels

Hello All,
I recently purchased an absolutely stunning Claire McCardell wool dress (and cannot wait to wear it this fall!!!!) and wanted to get a coat to go with it. Well last night I found a great new look coat that I think will look great with it. It's labeled Townley - but it's not a McCardell label, so I just wanted to see if anyone could help me date it. I don't have it yet (just ordered it last night!) but will include a label & dress photo from the store, just so you can see what I'm talking about.

Any help would be appreciated! I cannot wait for cooler weather :D

From the skirt shape and length, it looks 1947 - 1952 ish. Love to see it on a form when it arrives

Thanks guys. Is this the same Townley that McCardell designed for? I've read where some of the early labels read Townley Frocks but cant find any photos of those early labels.

Melody - I'm always happy to share pics of my treasures!!! I am traveling so don't have my own photos (sorry), but this is from the store where I purchased it (Hemlock Vintage). It's my first McCardell dress ...I'm in love :wub:
