Found this at an antique store this past weekend. I have searched Ebay and found thre Tre-Jur Girl with a crinoline on and they are dating to the mid 20's. What would you date this set at? Comes in its original box with a little brochure and never been used. I think there was also a compact which is missing. Cannot find a date anywhere. Also, where would you list? TIA.

Wow! That's a cool set. My first instinct is 30s. But something tells me it could be later as well. I don't know - it's pretty neat though.

Thanks, Carol. I just put vintage and I just listed it. Was reading the little brochure that came with it. It says..."Adorning the Joli Memoire packages, you will recognize Tre-Jur's little trade-mark lady. She is the constant companion of lovely women everywhere, for they have made the use of Tre-Jur not only habit, but fashion."

Isn't that neat?:)

THe House of Tre-Jur was concieved in 1923. They kept with a deco look to alot of their items well through the late 1940s. People do collect Tre-Jur and having an almost complete set like this is great. I would take a gander at the Tre-Jur compacts for sale on ebay and other places to see if you can find the matching compact although I think it may have been a cologne you are missing rather then a compact. They were one of the first to do "gift boxes" every season...
THat is about all I know of this particular house off the top of my head, I am STILL organizing the research room and tried looking for my compact and vintage toiletries books but they are stashed somewhere that I have yet to find.

Thanks, Harriet!

Michelle, you are amazing with your knowledge. I will have to put in my auction. It is a compact that is missing. From the little brochure it says...."For your convenience and luxury in the summer, Tre-Jur suggests three of its most popular toiletries..face power, talcum and the handy 'Little One' Compact."

And on further it says..

"The 'Little One'..america's Wonder Compact: Light, slim, aristocratic in its beauty, generous in its content."

How about that?

BTW, I think I found the compact. Go half way down the page. It looks just like the picture in the brochure, but they want $28.00 for it.:(

WOW!

would it be worth buying a compact to make it complete...if buying a compact is going to really increase the $$ of the set.

But maybe on the other hand, the compact is what people seperated out and it is more common. who knows, you just might find a buyer who wants to complete their set and only has the compact

Chris

I would buy it if I knew it would help. Anybody think it would?

Well, no. How cool. Now that price is more up my alley! LOL
