Question on a clutch made by Elbief England

I came across a black leather clutch with faux leopard fur on the front. The gold metal is stamped Elbief England. The strange part is on the inside is has a sewn in small piece of material stating Pointer, picture of a pointer dog, and "made to export." Any information or knowledge about this piece would be great. I've looked everywhere and can't find a similar image or information. Many Thanks!

Nice Bag. Elbief mostly made frames, which other manufacturers bought to make bags. So Pointer is the brand of your bag, who used an Elbief frame. You can find more info about Elbief if you search the forum.

Never heard of Pointer bags though. Can you show the inside of the bag, and the Pointer label? I'm not sure of the relevance, date-wise, of the Made to Export text, hmm.

That might be real fur, hopefully not real leopard, but real fur printed to look like leopard.

It would also be helpful to know how big it is. I think this is around the late 1950s to 1960s, more likely 60s. Bags tended to get bigger during this period, though obviously this isn't an exact science.

Thank you so much for the response!
The bag is 6"H X 9" W.
To be honest I have felt faux fur and this does not feel that way. Unfortunately I think it is real. These are the best images I could get.
Again, your help is much appreciated!

That's quite small, though not tiny, so perhaps 50s or early 60s. Curious if anyone else has an opinion on date.

What does it say above and below Pointer? I can't quite read it.

The lining appears to be real suede, is that your impression? Which suggests that it is real leather on the outside, and quite likely real fur.

How soft is the fur? It looks quite soft and fluffy. I'm no fur expert, but a close up might help. You can check if the colour of the black spots goes all the way to the skin, if not that means it's printed.

If it's real leopard, or any other large spotted cat, it's illegal to sell it as it's an endangered species.

Above the pointer it says "gold medal" and below "made to export." The inside is real suede. The fur is very soft and fluffy and it's difficult to see under the fur as it seems connected and the black goes all the way. I'm not sure this pic is any better. I'm well aware of the legalities around it so thanks! What I do with it, no idea?? Again, many thanks for the information and your time)
