questions about a gauzey dress

Good Morning everyone-

I love this dress and the matching scarf shawl. Any ideas on dating? I got it at an estate sale where I was lucky enough to find tons of 50s and 60s dresses, but this one I'm not sure about. Do you think the way I have the scarf in the pics is as intended? it could conceivably be a really long belt/sash too. No tags. The zipper is a teardrop shaped pull.

With the elastic waist, nylon zip and blouson bodice I would be placing this in the late 70s to 1980s area.
I do think you have the shawl worn correctly, with that amount of fabric it could only realistically be worn draped over the elbows like a stole or as you have it.
Can you show the zip and elastic insertion from the inside please? The combination of the two is kind of awkward which makes me think one was added later, possibly the zip for ease of wear.

It looks like the sort of garment that should be worn in the middle east or somewhere like Greece, certainly a hot country.

I'll give this one a closer look tonight too - maybe it is an 80s one. Def very much a Grecian/island feel to it!
