Questions about fur coats

Ok so I’ve got these 2 fur coats that I don’t know much about and it’s kinda hard to look things up so I was wondering if anyone was able to help me find out a little more.

So here’s the first one: I think it’s mink but I’m not too sure, the sleeves can be rolled up really nicely, and the collar buttons all the way up. If I had to guess something telling me 50s but I’m just going off feelings lol (also pardon how wet I am in that last photo I got caught in the rain for a little during a college tour)

And for the second one: I really don’t know anything about this one, the seller sold it to me thinking it was faux fur.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

Very pretty. The first is indeed mink and I would date it to the 50s and the second is goat and I'd date it to the 40s. Have a great time at college and if we can help more let us know. :)

Hey, I’m so sorry for asking another question so soon but my s.o. brought something to my attention and I kinda want a second opinion.

So after I bought the goat coat and showed it to my s.o. they sent me a link to this coat, it’s listed as mink but I really don’t think it is. if I had to guess, it strikes me as ermine, it’s really warm/orangey and the pelts themselves seem too small to be mink, but they remind me of other ermine pieces I’ve seen. I could be wrong tho so please correct me if I am (if I am wrong please point out what identifying features I missed, I wanna get better at this so I’d love to know)

Tha coat itself, shipping and tax and all comes out to like 65 bucks. It has some condition issues as you can see. The lining is pretty messed up and the fur has one (maybe two) major rips. I’m not too scared about sewing the fur up myself since I have experience with that (I’ve had to stitch that 50s mink coat like 7 times in the year I’ve had it and to date no one’s been able to point out the flaws, and they’d all be visible in those photos I posted) I’m honestly more worried about the liner and if I have to bring that into a professional (I can only hand sew things)

What I’m mainly asking in general is, if I’m right that it’s ermine (or frankly anything other than mink), would it be worth that $65 price tag despite its issues? If I do end up getting it I would probably consider it a graduation gift to myself since it’s a tad out of my usual budget, typically I don’t spend more than 50. Thanks again in advance if you have any insight! Sorry again for asking so soon. I don’t know anyone else who’s into furs, much less knows more than me.

The fur has some impressions and the coat is hanging in a way that makes it hard to identify for certain, but from what I can see, it looks like brown squirrel.
One should not sew a tear of a fur coat with a standard needle and thread, and without furrier tape backing it or the skin will not hold and will tear more.
I would love to give you better news but this coat needs a lot of extra love, care, and any repair would only be temporary as the damage is irreversible.
