Questions on Children\'s Vintage???

Okay guys......

I had a childrens section on my website, but decided to take it off since I wasn't getting alot of hits. My mom and I went to a thrift store Friday and I found about 15 80's teen dresses about size 12-14. I just love them and bought the lot of them for a good price.
I was just wondering if any of you sold teen clothing? What kind of prices do you ask? Many of them Do not have a label in them that I can find and other then a few tiny stains here and there, are in great shape.
Should I even bother trying to sell them?
:puzzled:

I think it really depends.

If you have larger teen sizes that can fit petite women it is always a plus.

Since the 80s are very "in" right now with teens and trendy adults, I would say if items look VERY 80s, you could have some winners. Sassoon and Jordache jeans with the designs on the pockets, and any t-shirts with cartoon or tv characters on them sell because some teens and younger adults wear them as baby t-shirts. As far as dresses, the assymetrical hems and things that look more young teen-ish rather than "child" might crossover to the petite adult or the trendy smaller sized teenager.

For the very young kids, Gymboree stuff always sells if the condition is excellent. There are groups on the internet about "vintage Gymboree" but i am pretty sure they mean early 90s because i don't think Gymboree was around then. So if you find any of that it might be a winner.

You might also consider that if no one knows if you have it, it won't sell. If you like offering children's things, I wouldn't give up on it right away. Your website is still pretty new and it may take time for the right folks to "find you" and you might need to specifically market to them.

I guess i don't know what more to say....i would post pics because maybe someone has a better idea than i do because i don't have kids.

They, the buyer would have to be pretty small. I measured the chest area at most of them to come about a size 30 bust.
I think we are thinking along the same line. I think my biggest downfall in the children section was the items being for smaller children and toddlers.
I do believe that going back and adding it with just teen items would be the way to go for now. Can always add the smaller stuff later.

I am excited to annouce that I have finally got enough money to add myself to the major search engines. I should be on them about Sept 1st. That should double my traffic to my site.

hi...
l have loads of kids gear....bought from a clearance years ago...mostly from 60s-70s..and it rarely sells...if l had more time..l'm sure bbc tv or some other tv drama wardrobe dept would buy job lot...

l regularly contact theatre groups for a group hire..or cheap sale...but like evryhting else l hang on to them just in case..one day the mice/rats will get the lot l have stored in the barn..or else my husband will lose the patience he always threatens to....
ebay hasnt really been successfull...unless a Uk size 8 or 10 can squeeze in to them...

I went ahead and added the Teen section back on my website. However it says that it will be teen wear and that it will be open on August 15th. This will give me a little time to see if I get any hits off of it.

The teen dresses I have are very 80's and stylish and is very close to the style that I have. So I guess I'm going to go ahead and try it for now. Can always change my mind.

Sorry, I meant to say that when I was last at the mall last week, I saw very similar styles at Foley's, Macy's and Dillard's that my 80's teen dresses have.
