I have three more listings to go before I quit today so I hope someone can offer me some quick help. I am thinking this all nylon sweater would be from the 60s?? The open detail work on the sweater. Is there a name for it?

Thanks so much!

Linda...

I just sold a sweater dress with a back zipper and you wouldn't believe how many description searches i got for "back zipper" and also "mock turtleneck". More people were looking for that than just "swater" Make sure you put that in the description for sure

I might just call the stitching "perforations" ---

Gosh, I wish I had known. I think I just gave away one that wasn't vintage!

Okay, sometimes I make things harder on myself. I will just put perforations and will include back zipper, mock, etc.

I think this would be perfect for all those suits being worn this Fall.:)

Don't beat yourself up. I don't even want to mention what i got rid of last year that is popular this year. :(

I really like this one and think it could do well

Linda, I believe that the little holes are part of the knitting process that the label refers to - full fashioned. What happens is that the sleeves are knit to fit the armholes, rather than being cut to fit. The shaping that takes place means that the number of stitches has to change to allow a correct fit. I just checked some of my full fashioned sweaters, and they all had those little holes, they just weren't so pronounced. Maybe the Designer Originals company decided to make the holes part of the design???? and so made them a little larger than normal. Or it could be that nylon has very little nap, comparied to the cashmeres I looked at.

There's more in the article I wrote for the guild on cashmere:

Lizzie, that is so interesting and what a great article. Thanks so much. I have a pink one similar to this one, too, so this really helps.
