Please excuse pics. I had my camera when I was away this weekend but no manni. Maybe you can help me date these. Most are house dresses, would you say? Sorry for all the pics.

First one is a purple flowered one. <img src=http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/magnolia05/kitchenformaldress.jpg><br><br><img src=http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/magnolia05/kitchenformaldress2.jpg><br><br><img src=http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/magnolia05/kitchenformaldress3.jpg><br><br><img src=http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/magnolia05/kitchenformaldress4.jpg><br><br><img src=http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/magnolia05/kitchenformaldress5.jpg><br><br>Next one is a little shift with sequins all over it. No label.

Yes the two that zip up the front make me think 40s too. That gingham one with sequins is such a strange combination! I have no idea about that. Maybe they span a period late 40s-early 50s?

I don't know. I am getting a 60s vibe on the pink sequin one. Well, the best way to make sure is to put them on my manni. Off to a full day of work!

I would say "day dress" rather than house dres, definitely more searched and removes the "house coat" stigma that some folks have.

re: sequins one
I have a shirt with the same collar and its definitely 60s. But I also have a ladies suit in my personal closet that is tailor tag dated 1949 with a similar collar (or at least very close.) I am just going to lean into it being 60s because the sequins is such an unusual touch to a dress like that. I could be way off, though. or it could be late 40s...

i have a gingham print dress entirely covered in that soutache pattern of sequins. i was very confused by it and put it away in my (HUGE) 'to deal with another time' box! i'd be interested to find out when it dated to (and what it waa worn to!)

no help at all but i love the last one!!

:love008:

I'm pretty sure the sequined gingham one is 60s Linda. The zippered
"day" (agree sounds better than "house") dresses 40s. Does anyone else
think that "A Kitchen Formal by Princess Peggy" sounds funny? :)

Thanks, guys. All the "day dresses" were purchased at same place so I would think they would be probably 40s. 60s on sequin one.

Have not done a search on that label, Sue. Maybe I will come up with something.

Cute dresses. Guess I'm the only one that thinks the first one is late thirties??? (would love to know the measurements on this one by the way).
Second one definately 60s. Third one... I'm stumped. Fourth one 50s.
