Quilt jacket help

I'm after a bit of advice about this jacket. I was gifted it by a friend, who says it's 1920s. It's got some stains from being stored at her house. Any info about age and origin would be brilliant. And if anyone knows how best to clean it, that would be brilliant. I need to find a decent cleaners, my local drycleaner isn't very good.

Those stains look pretty bad. Almost like rust or foxing to the silk. It's interesting and looks a little older to me than 20s but it's difficult to know for certain. It could be 20s, something about the shape and the lining is what is making me think it is older

Yes, I see '20s or a bit earlier too - and it looks like a bed jacket to me. No advice on cleaning I'm afraid, as it's easy to damage garments of this age and if it's silk you're unlikely to get the oxidisation out either. If it was strong you could perhaps dye it but that also, carries a risk of damage.

Thanks so much for all the replies. A friend has gone through her stack of cleaning books, and I've researched online. It's quite a sturdy, well made piece, so I'm going to spend next couple of days cleaning off as much of the foxing as possible. Then will have a think whether to risk dying it or keep as it is.
