R. Attal Dress and Cashmere Souffle

I wanted to share two of my favorite finds. The first is an orange-red cashmere sweater with large pearly buttons. I see that Cashmere Souffle is in your label resource and have learned a little about that. But I don't know much (really, anything) about designers. That's why I am here with you lovelies. :)

The second I am very curious about. This dress has R. Attal stitched on the bust and on the tag. I didn't know vintage designers did that? It made me smile and think about how my modern dressing friends will wear t-shirts with Old Navy and Coke printed on them. And not think a thing! hahah.

I did find an inner tag that says 100% polyester with a few faded care symbols on it. Polyester is probably a giveaway, right? Oh well, even if it's not as old as I was thinking, I love it. I am thinking of wearing it to the upcoming vintage show.

Thanks for any info you might have to offer!

Eileen, you wear the R. Attal well! I wonder if the signature on the bust denotes a uniform, perhaps his staff wore the dress?

I love monograms, they make it so much more personal and idiosyncratic.

Me too! and it suits you so well!!!! Girl you got it going on in red :-) you were made for this stuff!!! I have to struggle to get it to like "alright"

:wow22:

You look stunning in that dress, and the neckline is so cool! Love that big-button sweater, too. Red is my favorite color; I need to go shopping in your closet when you're not home!

You look so fine in that red dress!
The Stix, Baer & Fuller label makes me feel so much nostalgia. That was an excellent chain of department stores in St. Louis, and I fondly remember shopping, at the various branches. The sweater is lovely, and judging by the font of the label, it seems early 70's or therabouts to me, give or take. Going by memory...now going by the label resource, late 60's. That seems right.

Aww, I was posting about the clothes, but I will take the compliments, too!

I like the thought that it might have been a uniform. And Anne, you can come over whenever you want. We will have a ball.

I LOVE YOUR HAIR!!! i WISH i could wear a style like that, it looks so terrific on you!!!

and agree, late 60s on the sweater (super cute) and not sure age-wise that dress, but uniform does sound correct; with that elasticized waist, maybe even 70s...although not a LOT of cutwork was done then, so maybe earlier...
