raffia (?) hat, 1950s (?)

Does this hat have a 'style' name?
Is it from the 1950s?
Is this material raffia?

I don't know the technical term, but I would describe it as a 'pinecone' hat!

With that domed shape, I'd call it a bubble toque. I love it!

The material looks like raffia or a similar kind of palm leaf.
