Hi,
the neck label from this plain white Ralph Lauren button down (ladies) shirt is already in the label resource, but the crest isn't.

it states:

"EST MCMLXVII"... Established 1977 if my roman numerals are correct.

I am wondering why 1977 was chosen..

but according to the label resource 1971 was the intro of the polo line for women, but 1977 he designed clothing for Annie Hall. Perhaps it was a tie in somehow commemorating the latter. hmm... he must have thought it important enough to commemorate on even modern shirts.....
 
I remember those logos on my several of my Ralph sweater and shirts that I had in junior high and high school in the 80's. It was "in" to have logo items......
 
Thats what was throwing me.. it didnt jive with the info in the label resource.. so is this a 80's blouse with a earlier label? i havent listed it waiting to make sure.

I was thinking more that the crest paid homage to a point in time or a founding of something versus to date the item.

It is definitely modern. I am going to say early to mid 90s on this.

There was no size 2 in the 70s..in adult ladies sizes. This looks large on your manni...a more generous cut, which would be consistent in my mind with the 90s or later. I would say the earliest it could be would be very very late 80s but thats iffy. There were crested things in the 80s, but in the early 90s, there was a lot of things with a menswear look...not just elements but look like you stole it out of your husband's/brother's/father's closet and with the large scale of the pocket and other elements despite the small size look very much like that to me.
 
Yeah Chris, I was thinking about this yesterday and was leaning more into the late 80's, early 90's too.

I even went so far as to go to my mother's and find all my jr high and high school pics to confirm...... :USING:
