I'm not familiar with the label so I don't know if it's authentic or not.

You are asking a difficult question and I've gone back & forth on it. Bottom line for me is I guess I would remove the label and just sell it as a nicely made jacket (provided it is well made). I would not remove the made in China label, because that is probably where it was made. By taking off the Lauren label you are not supporting the "knock-offs" business, which I very much dislike. I'm interested in seeing what others have to say.

Lauren is a moderate priced line of RL - sold in stores like Macy's, etc. We don't have this label in the LR but it's very possible that the jacket is authentic.

I cant read bottom - is that roman numerals after Est? Figure out what they say and see if it has right date. RL has a gajillion labels it seems so, agree wtih Linn above.

better photo. I assumed as it did not have the polo player but undecided now. It has the name on the buttons and inside the coat as well. It is also very nicely made.
Really amazes me the lack of images and such on the internet. Even at the Ralph Lauren shop it does not show the labels of anything.

Sandy, I don't think this would be an RL label that would be faked. I would think that the black and purple RL labels would be more likely to be faked than this line. I certainly could be wrong, of course...

That being said, I agree that if you yourself have doubts, you could state that you can't guarantee authenticity. But I definitely would not remove the label unless some expert can tell you it's definitely a fake.

I can see Anne & Nicole's point of view on this. (I'm a flip flop). I now agree the best course is not removing the label, but stating that you can't guarantee authenticity. :)
