Hi. I am new to this forum. I make memory bears and recently was given two furs from a customer in Canada. They are extremely well made and I was wondering as I was deconstructing them if they are real. It appears both are from the same company and one has a definite hide. The other appears to me as a layman to possibly not be real except for the collar and bottom trim. Can I get any opinions from these pictures. Thanks

Hi and welcome! I really adore the memory bear idea, such a wonderful way to repurpose and reuse vintage fur! In my opinion I think you are correct, but I will ask our resident fur expert, Caryn, to give you a hand, she will know! @furwise
Hi there, the first photo is a bit blurry. If you can take and show a clear photo of that coat hanging, we can provide positive fur type identification. I do see the skin side of the pelts as well as the size of each which is an indicator of fur type too.

Thank you for the additional photos. The double breasted coat with the half belt in back consists of brown faux fur and black faux fur. The lighter brown fur with the darker brown stripes is muskrat fur that has been let out, crafted, and dyed to look like mink,
