Real Leopard Fur Collar?

Hi y'all! I like to buy second-hand fur stoles and collars from thrift stores for fun, and I have a little collection going on. I forgot about this specific one until the other day when I found it in a storage bin I had, I had gotten it at a thrift store years ago and never thought anything of it. Looking at it now, I'm wondering if it is real leopard fur, or if it's dyed cow hide, or even something else. Short fur, soft but structured. and seems rather old. Any opinions would be helpful :) Thanks!

If it's real leopard fur, the colors will go all the way down to the hide. Faux leopard will stop short of that; i.e., sit closer to the surface. Your third photo showing a closeup of the collar's edge suggests real. Try spreading the hairs with your fingers elsewhere to look down to the hide.

If you are in the U.S. (and many other countries) and it is real leopard, it is illegal to sell it, whether it is vintage or new.

Ah yes, I knew about that rule, no intention of selling for that reason :)

Thank you!
