Recent Odd Ball Purchases

I enjoy seeing what other folks have found in their hunts. I rarely find any "good labels," but I do find some fun/silly things which, hoarder that I am, I can’t resist. Here are some recent small purchases. Apologies for fast photos.

This says “chopper hopper. ” I thought it was where you put chopped onions or something, until someone explained to me it was for dentures! After the fact I see the hands are holding a toothbrush and toothpaste.

This is a fun late 80’s two piece outfit with a snake skin pattern on some of the fabric and it is well made. When I bought it (a bag sale) I didn’t even realize the strip on the right side of the jacket is a snake with rhinestone eyes!.

WHY I got this is beyond me, just thought it was fun.

What do you call this (unattractive) little heel?

And here’s an odd vest - it almost looks as if the design was hand painted a la old manuscript. It is well constructed.

And a novelty apron.

And another - why did I get this? - purchase. Men’s white uniform shoes.

Hey thanks all - Believe me - I could post one of these threads every week, Hmmm maybe I should start a "quirky finds" blog. I wonder if the little chick container (it's plastic) held a child's drink, or perhaps medicine. (See Mary Poppins singing, "A spoonful of sugar ...") etc. And nope - no shell jewelry this week, but I did find a very strange pin shaped like a fly made out of fine filigree. It made me think of the jewelry I saw in Toldeo Spain.

I read a quirky finds blog a while back. I was so intrigued I read all of her posts. Bummed because I forgot to bookmark it...

I love something out of the ordinary, off topic, and just plain fun! I love the quirky things I run across but I can't take them home with me.

Send me a link if you start one! I'll add your blog to my favs and add your link to my blog.

I love quirky too! That little chick reminds me of Calimero:
. I watched that series on TV as a small kid!

Uh, I had a pair of shoes with that kind of heel too - about 4-5 years ago? I must've walked all over Montreal in them (my outfit for a cold March or April day: kitten heels, leg warmers, skin colored pantyhose, short jeans skirt and a big warm ski jacket on top - oh dear :BAGUSE: ). They were comfy, but that heel was just gone in no time - I was a very good customer at the shoe makers'!
