RED JEWELS

Need help please, have looked in books almost everywhere. I have never seen red jappaned jewelry. The red rhinestones have gold foil backs. I could see the edge of one from a close inspection, The red almost has an aurora borealis effect, you know, reflecting extra purple, vilolets and blue hues. No plaques or signatures anywhere.
They sparkle plenty and are 'cherry cute'
I want to list them for the holiday [Valentine's] So, come on experts tell me what you think. All input greatly appreciated.:adore:

I would call it Japanned. The red rhinestones could have an AB (aurora borealis) coating - they come in all colors. I would date the set early '60's. Perfect for Valentine's Day!

Thanks a lot for your help! The blue must be beautiful as these are.

vintagemerchant, was the black set marked? Sarah?

NATURAL LIGHT PHOTO for the RED JEWELS

I took a natural light shot.. you are so right you can see all the details in the twine-ing red metal, the little flower petals around the red stones and the twists which are actually vines.
the pic is on the original post [black background]

Linn uses a scanner, which is fabulous for detail, too. i find shooting in natural light on a white or light surface usually draws attention to the piece and shows detail best for me.

i can't remember...that was soooo long ago...most SC was marked, too...so maybe it was just similar and from the same era, and yes 1960s.

and thanks @ the mannni. she's one that i bought from Marge Crunkleton ~ i just love her, too! :)
