RED LEATHER SHOES or SLIPPERS?

Am I a slipper? or a shoe

I thought these were hand made until I saw a stamped number on the sole.

I can barely make out the number except for a few 6's and maybe an 8.

leather is smooth and supple no inner tags

Any help is always appreciated.

They remind me more of ethnic shoes from some country like Hungary or Ukraine than of bedroom slippers. But I have no idea. Just a feeling.

Liza, I had that feeling as well. This woman who owned them was a secretary for Eisenhower and was in Europe during the tail end of WWII. She has so many tourist items and many of them are Russian!
