Red Sheer Overlay Embroidered Dress?

Adorable! A good girl/bad girl dress. Quick impression, the overlay looks 40s and the eyelet looks 50s, which isn't any help at all, right? The red looks really bright for the 40's, but I also know how hard it is to photograph red.
I'm not sure these are original to one another. The dress looks more 50s and the overlay older, like Amanda said.
Also, if they were truly a set, I'm pretty sure that the overlay would have been the same length.
both very nice pieces though, just think they've been married!

I am sorry. Just have them hanging wonky. They have the same piping around the middle and are the same length.
The red overlay has a very wide hem as well so could definitely be let out. Maybe a 1/4 inch difference and this could be due to the nature of the fabrics possibly?

Well, if they are the same length than I guess it is possible they may have been original to one another. Very summer garden party! I can just see the ensemble with a great big wide brimmed organdy picture hat and gloves of course!
