Reedcraft Leather Bag....Date?

I can find some ads and one bag similar listed as 20s, but this Nouveau styling seems possibly older. Stamped Reedcraft inside handle. Any thoughts? Thanks!!

What a beauty! I would call it and Arts & Crafts styled purse. I would say it is Edwardian or just a little later.

These always used to confuse me too. However, they were being made in the late 1910s and early 1920s - even up to the mid 1920s with this old fashioned Art Nouveau styling (although this one is bordering on Mission style). I always felt Art Nouveau was pretty much killed by WW1, and it was - in France. I would have expected a more pure Artsy Craftsy Mission style from the early 20s but I have seen these with patented lock sets and findings dated 1919- 1925. I found a catalogue page with them listed once and they weren't terribly expensive in their day - low end department store kind of thing... so they weren't high fashion.
