Removing set in stains 50\'s 60\'s cotton/linen

I have no problem removing stains for poly fabrics, i have that down cold. and i could probably tell you how to lift most types of unwanted blemishes from your garments, but i am curious about this stain. it is on a 1950s/1960s dress. i'm assuming this is a grease stain and i was wondering if anyone has success stories of removing grease stains from clothes. i've heard dish washing detergent or dish washing soap (maybe?) works well. any tips or tricks of the trade?

I usually soak in Napisan Oxywash. It seems to have no problems with cottons and linens.

I'm impressed with your record of getting stains out of polyester! I've pretty much given up on those, so if you'd like to share you secrets....?

The cotton poly blends usually fail. The 100% polyester dresses that I have listed in my ebay store, half of those i bought stained. I use the oxyclean spray and let it soak into the fabric for 2 -4 days then wash them on delicate cycle with the oxy clean detergent type stuff. If they are similar colors I wash them on hot/cold cycle, if not I wash with cold water. Both seem to have a very high success rate.
