Repairs on 1950s day dress

So, I just bought this darling little day dress in this vintage store and it was on sale due to some damage on the dress itself, and I love it so much I'd hate to not repair it. Most of the damage is on the lining, so as long as it'll hold I don't really mind at all. The one tear is on the back of the bodice. It also has a dropped waist.

That is lovely. I would have wanted to save it too. It looks like the lining is possibly silk which has shattered so I would replace the lining (which you would need to remove to re-inforce the bodice tear anyway) I would just check the outer is not silk as well before you start repairs, as if it is also silk it may not withstand wearing.
