Replica or the real thing:)

Once again I come for your expert advice. I picked up this dress thinking its perhaps 80s replica? The price was right so I took my chance. But upon close inspection it kind of look older than 80s. The edges are unfinished. Buttons not typical and the thread in some spots had disintegrated and got dark so it had to be replaced. The reson I thouht it was newer is the fabric. It looks like satin but a bit rough. Not delicate silk type, it has a bit of 80s feel to it. I tried researching it but really feel confused. Thank you if you care to state your opinion. I apologize for a bit decentrred pictures. Tried to take them while chasing my 3 yo away.

I agree with late 30s, even possibly very early 40s. Rayon has been in production in the US since the 1910, it was called artificial silk at the time. It came into more use for dresses in the 20s and 30s.
