Restoring a Marguerite Rubel Velvet Coat

I came across this gorgeous velvet coat from Marguerite Rubel that was covered in stains and has 3 missing Dorset buttons. There are no contents or care tags, but after poking around the internet I thought it might be 100% cotton velvet with an acetate lining. I soaked it 3 times in Woolite Delicate, completely forgetting I had Cotton Clean. For the last of the 3 soaks, I added vinegar and a small bit of dawn soap for the tougher stains. Before the soak, it did not have much of a smell, and after, whew, it really stinks! It was also causing my husband and I to sneeze a lot after it dried. So it's currently outside airing. I hope it doesn't have dry rot or that I did something wrong. (Was the Woolite or dawn to harsh?) Most of the stains came out but there are a bunch of yellow splotches all over the coat, as well as a similar lighter color around the areas that get more wear..cuffs, button rims,. Which were most likely there beforehand but seem a bit more pronounced now that the darker speckles are gone. Does anyone have an idea of what these might be? Is it fading of the fabric? Tougher stains? The beginnings of dry rot? A chemical reaction from its previous conditions? After my 3rd soak with the vinegar and dawn, some of the color from the acetate lining came out and stained my painted tub. There is now wear to the lining that I don't think was there previously. I tried pulling slighting at inconspicuous areas to see if the fabric would tear, and it did not.

Since there are a few more stains, I wanted to soak it again. I thought that sodium percarbonate might be too strong for the velvet, so I bought some sodium perborate (retro clean) to try, but wanted to make sure it was worth the effort before proceeding. I am worried about using hot water since my colorfast test did result in a small amount of color transfer. Any thoughts and opinions are much appreciated!

So multiple questions, what are the splotches? Could it possibly have early-onset dry rot? How to get rid of the smell? (vinegar, alcohol?) and why was the smell activated AFTER I washedit? Is it worth it to give it a soak in either sodium perborate or sodium percarbonate? If it's worth it, I need some buttons. Anyone know of a good place where I can find replacements? They say Hardy 45 on the back. I found some on etsy, but would like to know if anyone has a trusted resource!

Sorry I know this is a lot of questions, but I just want to make sure I am choosing the best course of action in restoring this coat to its former glory!
