I have a fab pair of 1980s high waisted women's fitted trousers labelled Morris Kaye & Sons - Exclusive furriers. From what I can read they are a well respected and long standing furrier, but I can find no mention of them having departed into other areas of fashion, their current website only lists items made of fur or with fur decoration. Any idea why they would make such a random garment? I don't think it was a custom order or anything, it looks commercially produced.
These black trousers are suede on the front with a large cowboy boot, mini stetson style hat and lassoo embroidered on the bottom of the left leg in bright colours. There is a diagonal seam just above the knee. The back half is a thick ribbed elastic jersey and the front half is lined. The waistband and loops are also in jersey, zip fly and popper fastening. Faux-jean style pockets on the front (well, the coin pocket functions!) I can only think these are line-dancing trousers, due to the stretchy construction and lining. What say you?
I'd love to submit the label to the resource but it's going to look a bit odd the only label comes from a non-fur garment! Caryn do you have any experience with this label?
Edit: found the same pair here, mine has different labels though.
