Rogant wool coat

I bought a coat this week in a charity shop, with the make 'Rogant England' in the label; there is a Pure New Wool and woolmark logo with 'dry clean only' underneath. the Rogant label states Lining 100% viscose. there is no size label. The coat itself seems very good quality; it is heavy in a cornflower blue rough-touch wool, with nice slant pockets, a tie belt, below knee length, and sleeves with back seam and ebow dart. The lining is a lovely contrasting pale peach colour. The buttons are squareish with a bevelled edge, the same colour exactly as the coat. I will try to post some pics.

I would welcome any information about Rogant: who the company was, where they were based etc. and their period of production. I have searched the internet but found virtually nothing except for a couple of items for sale on ebay, or in vintage collections, one of which seems to suggest that they made for ?department stores? such as "specially designed for J. Jones"

hi, I have finally managed to get some good photos of the coat. Any help / advice re dating the coat would be really appreciated. Thanks :)

Your coat is fairly modern, judging by the labels, but it's a more conservative style probably worn by an older lady so that could be why it looks older, it shows style elements from the '50s and '60s.

It could be late '70s or '80s or more modern. Conservative styles are harder to date as they aren't as prone to fashion changes.
