Roger & Gallet Paris Suit

I purchased this suit off of ebay a while ago, from a dealer who sold perfumes. I realize this label is most commonly seen on perfume, but wonder if anyone knows anything about the age of this suit?? There is only the one label, in the jacket and no others. It appears to be made of silk. The skirt is lined and has a metal zipper up the back. The seams are all finished with stitching. It is missing its original belt. The skirt has a tailored style hem, and the jacket has rows of super fine topstitching. Any help dating it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance,Susan

This is interesting. I can't find any reference either to Roger & Gallet ever producing anything else than toiletries. Maybe this was a shop assistant's uniform, and the label was there to say that it was the property of the boutique? Although I can't quite imagine it would be silk then...

Good answers! The buttons do not seem as old as I would expect from the 30s, but it had the metal zipper in the skirt and no fabric content tags or any sign that it ever had any. I was even wondering if maybe the skirt was made seperately by a tailor to match the jacket, which was commercially made. The metal zipper is set in the middle of the flap, as a home sew-er would do and the hem is tailor style with large whip stitches.
