I actually have a similar hostess lounging outfit like Angie Dickinson wore when they came for dinner to her studio. Mine does not have a coat though it is a silk jumpsuit with the overskirt.
This a.m. it's all the 30s Golddiggers films...clothing is a real treat in these films!

I'm getting old - I fell asleep just when Angie Dickinson came back into the plot. Italy is lovely and as a travelogue its a great film, but when your eyelids are sticking shut all those low key scenery shots of mountains and lakes are deadly for staying awake!
The only thing that bugged me was the lack of chemistry between Troy and Suzanne. Maybe it was because Suzanne was lesbian - but she seemed to have a better romance with Bob Newhart! And why was Troy supposed to be such a hearthrob - he was really pudgy and rather plain looking.

Troy and Suzanne were actually married very briefly at one point.
He was married a number of times and died at the age of 65 of a heart attack.
I found he just doesn't come across as much of an actor...rather amateurish.

Loved it! It was like a post card and the love story wasn't bad either. I think Troy was a cutie in that 60's frat boy way.
