Rose brooch - date?

Hi, When would you say this is from? Thanks -- Liza

So a little searching around found a whole slew of IDENTICAL pins on Etsy, etc. right now, and a few variations obviously from the same era/manufacturer. The identical pins are all dated between 1960 and 1980 (no clue how the sellers reached those conclusions, just reporting what I saw). It's a sweet little pin, but I cracked up when someone had it listed as "rare and hard to find." Sure, if you don't know how to type "rose brooch" and press the "enter" key... ';)

Liza,

I tried to see if I could find a similar piece in a jewelry book but I didn't come up with anything. I'm not sure how old it is. But, since you found a "whole slew" of IDENTICAL pieces on Etsy, it's possible that they are brand new imports and not vintage. It's sweet - but "rare and hard to find." are not adjectives I would use!

Precisely, Linn. I don't think it's a brand-new import situation, as the estate where I got it had literally NOTHING brand new (don't think the woman had anything new in 20+ years -- she was in a home, removed from the estate items, and this was from her actual house where she'd lived prior). But definitely not any older than 70s or so.
