Royal purple cape coats, 40s 60s 70s?

They seemed to be more popular in 60s , but did exist in the 40s and probably 50s just wanted to show everyone my latest find

And to ask for help dating it

Also it is a hood or collar?

The snaps have this strange netting on them

Its not giving me any hints. No tags no special seams

Its actually not this bright. More mauve . They purple fabric has blackish wrong side. I haven't seen that before

The blackish reverse of the purple sounds suspiciously like one of the compound fabrics that was being made in the late 60s and into the 70s. I sincerely hope it hasn't broken down for you. No powdered residue in the hem or anything like that?
 
I have to give it another exam before making repairs, but I don't remember seeing any powdery residue yesterday. I will take a closer look. Very important
