S Curve Closure Boucle Princess Coat

Hi everyone,
Thought I would stick a heavy coat out there in August and see if anyone is interested!
I am listing this as a 1950s coat as that is what I "feel" the dating is but I have some doubts and think it may be from the 1940s? I am going to be listing it in a few minutes but would still like your imput. It has a National Recovery Label an IEG but that does not help me much. Fully lined in a deep mossy green taffeta rather then a rayon which is another reason I am thinking 1950s. Somehow the buttoning seems earlier though and that "new look" suit I have up has the same S curve buttoning and that alone dates it into the late 1940s SIGH.... would love some help!
THanks!
Michelle

Love it! FWIW, this does look late 40s to me, with its waistline and shape. Not to sound wishy-washy or anything (LOL!), could be into early 50s. Just checked my reference "bible" and found some late 40s suits with very similar lines. If you listed it as late 40s/early 50s, I think that would be pretty accurate. Especially if the taffeta is silk and not a synthetic.... In any event, it's a wonderful coat!

Michelle, I love that coat and I agree with the 40s date. You must, must, put military styling. It looks like it to me and there are plenty like this in the Fall fashion trends in the magazines.

Hi Linda,
I did mention military in the description, I didn't harp on it but perhaps I should? Somehow stick it in the title LOL I need ebay to give me a few more letters for my title!!

Well, I am trying to get some Fall scans done today. I will see if I can find one similar.;)

What about this Oscar De La Renta?

Here you go. If you had pulled your collar up a little, they would really be similar.:)

You are so sweet *smile* But oh my goodness please do not spend precious time looking for scans for my stuff! I do thank you though!

I need to start scanning my own mags, I get the Italian, French, British ect Vogues and Bazzar mags... One day I will get it all together and have one scanning day a month!!

Thank goodness that coat is too big for me; otherwise I would have had to bid even though I can't afford it right now!

I have put some coats on mine last week and some winter items. I haven't sold them yet, but I sure have had lots of lookers, so I am encourged to add more soon.
