???’s ~ ~ Is this an Edwardian “lawn dress”? Material?

Lawn dress? Approx. date? Is the material batiste (it’s like a very fine, on the sheer side, linen)? Is that gathered waist normal, or was this reconfigured somehow? Does the lace have a special name? Many thanks.

It's definitely a teens era dress (or late Edwardian if you include the Edwardian era up to 1919). I'd probably say about 1916- 1917 ish. That type of gathered waistline seemed to be fashionable for that period, I've come across other things from that time period with that type of waist treatment.
