?\'s on dresses - Tricosa, Daymor

I photographed sparkly things most of the day, but without much success. I've had difficulty getting anything to look like what it look likes! Arrrrrrrggggg. Especially, wide shots.

Anyway, these are 60s evening wear - an earlier Daymor brocade (Two! Two! Two looks in one...) - it's actually whiter and brighter - and a later Tricosa (made in France, I believe). Both bigger sizes 6/8, 6-10(lots of stretch).

Tricosa - what do you call that zigzag treatment of the fabric?

Both - what price I should or could be looking at?

Your input is greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks, Deborah

Oops, and the Tricosa

I, and I know Lin (noir boudoir), have seen the tricosa label before. Everything that we have found up to now seems to be later 60s/early 70s...but that is a different label than I have ever seen.

Its hard for me to say from this view..but is that covered in soutache trim? or just "yarny"

Hi Chris,
Judging by the zipper, I'd say it's late 60's - I think the look may be earlier, but the zipper is not. It's certainly "yarny", but soutache sounds like something to eat! I've never heard the term.

I'm off to work - will check back in the morn.

The first dress is Gorgeous and should bring good money for you.
I would include Bombshell, Wiggle, Beaded and Golden Brocade in the title
Vintage 60s BEADED GOLD BROCADE BOMBSHELL WIGGLE DRESS

The second suit looks late 50s early 60s to me, is the zipper on the side or on the back? Could it have been replaced? The trim looks like Ribbon work to me, if I could see a close up I could tell you.

Both lovely.. you keep bringing out things I want Deborah :)
Suit looks like soutache to me too, I have a sleeveless one in yellow that I think is cool, but not as subtle as this (mine is like a giant soutache and a bit OTT!)

Price wise I think they should both do well, but ebay is a tricky science. Are you going to auction them or do BIN?

Thanks ladies!!!

I think I'll use "Vintage 60s BEADED GOLD BROCADE BOMBSHELL WIGGLE DRESS" - great title!!!

Tricosa - nylon zipper on the side and it does not look replaced. Below is a close-up of the "yarny" stuff. Let me know if this is good enough, otherwise I'll take another pic. I may decide to redo pictures of both, anyway.

Harriet - right now I'm looking for suggestions on prices - BIN, start bid, reserve price... I know if you were selling them, they would probably do really well. But as a new kid on the block, I don't have the traffic or buyer confidence yet; so I'm not sure if I'll put them up now or wait to set up an eBay store and put them in with a BIN. ???????

Thanks again!!!

Deborah

Thanks, Anne. And after doing more searching, I agree - ribbon work.
