?s on fav Chic 70s NOS dress - best time to list, etc

This is one of my fav dresses and I'm emotionally attached to it so I need some perspective (because I would like big deneroes for it) even though it will never fit and would never have fit me ever (about a 0 or 1).

What do you think a good starting price would be, or reserve price?
Is this a good time to list? Or should I wait for the Xmas party season?

No name, empire waist, see through bodice, crushed velvet (leaning more towards rayon), well made with orig price tag still on (without the price - LOL).

That is fabulous! I love those hooded dresses.

If you don't want to put as Halloween..like goth witch or vampire...then I would wait until around the first of November when people are starting to think of the Holidays. Velvet is suppose to be hot this Fall, although I have never had any luck in selling it.

Price? I am the worst on this. I would start it off at the least you want to take for it.

I understand Deborah - that's wonderful, and I would want to keep it if it was mine (even though it wouldn't fit me either!)

I agree with Linda price wise, start it high if you don't want to use a reserve. I actually find it harder to price things I am not totally in love with (for want of a better phrase!) - stuff I would rather keep I am quite happy to charge highly for as you know you'll not likely see it again.. as I know I would regret letting things go for less. And have regretted it!

l could dita von teese in that!! l would keep it anyway if like itd that much, l have items that are that small, would fit my left leg at the waist!! but its like a great example...bloody well keep it...or put a reserve of £75 so that if it goes well its money..... you can always withdraw it...

Hi Deb,

Put a high reserve on it...I have noticed with ebay these days that you need to protect your items...and I still find it is more difficult to sell items that simply start at a high price.

We have been selling on our other site for almost 8 years now and we have always been more successful with the high reserve rather than the high starting price.

It's a pretty sexy item!

Good luck with it, it should catch the right person's eye!

Thanks Harriet & Sara! I'm going to list it tonight and see what happens with a high reserve - I'd feel ill if it went for peanuts. If there's no action, I'll relist in November for the party season.

You guys are the greatest!!!
