Hi there,

Ok I LOVE this dress, and bought it from a dry cleaners. Ya woulda thought I woulda noticed the freakin' stain at the bottom!!! But nope, I didn't until I brought it out in the bright sunshine this weekend (still cold as @_#@_)# though!). Anyway, should I even bother trying to sell it?
And if I do, what year/style is this? How do I bring attention in the auction title to the detail at the neckline?

(not sure what this stain is, it basically just a big spot darker than the rest of the dress)

Can the dress be hemmed (by the new owner, not you as you) or do you think it is something that may come out. the hemming may ruin the line...but an option to make it usable. I know you bought it froma drycleaner but perhaps it was something unclaimed from awhile ago or sat in a backroom and was unattended to. Unless it was another circumstance? Perhaps an applique would cover it as well...

just thinking of ideas....

Those pockets make me think late 50s???

Banded collar with embroidery????

Is that more embroidery on the tie or are they rhinestones?

I don't think I am much help on this one

Hi there,

Unfortunately there's no way to hem the dress that short. Honestly, if you were to wear it out and about in the evening, it's not even noticeable. It is however, noticeable when I'm taking pics with a flash :(
Maureen, those are rhinestones on the tie.
Maybe I'll retake them w/out the flash :wow:

What a shame, it's a lovely dress. Try without flash, and if it doesn't show up much you could list it with both images and an explanation that the stain isn't too bad in certain light.
