Hi! I'm new and I have a cool dress to ask y'all about...

My women's club collects dresses for a prom dress giveaway boutique and someone donated this dress from Saks.

It still has the price tag, $975, and the label is probably late 80's, early 90's.

Any ideas about true date, worth, etc...We want to sell it to help raise $ for the plus size dresses we need for our boutique.

Thanks

D-

Hi!

Do you have a picture of the label you could show us?

As far as "worth"..."worth" is what a buyer is willing to pay. Sometimes that is hard to say as it depends on certain conditions (style, condition, and of course who is able to view it) Are you auctioning it off or will you be putting a set price on it?

Ditto on the label - is it just the saks label, or is there another designer label hidden anywhere (i.e. in the skirt seam)

It's really pretty - and it's good that it has the original price tag! :)

If you are selling it for charity, what it may bring may not be reflective of what someone would pay if it were just being sold without the charity attached. I know when I have bid at charity auctions, I have bid higher than normal if I feel strongly about the charity as whatever i bid above and beyond i consider a donation. And it takes only two people to raise the price bidding against eachother. If you are doing a live charity auction, I would say start it off very reasonably.

Here is the label from the pink silk beaded gown-what do y'all think?
