Saks Fifth Avenue

I recently bought a casual vintage coat. It has 3 labels inside. The first is Saks Fifth Avenue in blue. Then the second label underneath in a lager size is designed by Ernest Engle also in blue. Then the last one is a tiny one with the number of the size.

My question is, can the Saks Fifth Avenue lable be fake? The reason I'm questioning is the style of the writting is not the same as I have seen on other items I have from Saks. And it is sewn on but had 2 staples in it. I saw on the lable reference guide "50's to 60's " lable that was close but it had the designer in the same lable. Not like mine where it was 2 separate lables. Any one have any thoughts? Would someone fake a lable?

I doubt its fake. I've seen lots of variations on the Saks label over the years, and the Label Resource is an ongoing project which isn't nearly complete. It would be great if you could post pictures of your coat and the label. Also post a picture of the label on the Label Resource thread so it can be added!

The staples could be from an old dry cleaning ticket.

I will try posting Thursday. I tried to take pictures tonite. But It is too dark and the pictures get blown out.

You dont have Ernest Engle on the Lable Resource. I dont know much about him. But was told when I purchased the coat that he did alot of ski wear.
