Santa Monica Vintage Expo-pics

Hi -
I flew home last night so I am swamped trying to unpack and all but I wanted to post pictures of the SM Vintage Expo that I went to last weekend.
It was so much fun and the vintage was amazing! I saw a few familiar faces and bought a few things too.
I made a point of asking the dealers if they were having a good show and they all said that they had sold way more than they had expected. Anyway, here are a few pics.

I nearly missed these .
What a great set of photos, a two day fair, is that normal?
just thinking that would add to the overheads a lot but must be worth it!

Thanks so much for posting these, Marie!

Actually, what caught my eye was the outdoor photo of the Civic Center.

It looks WARM OUTSIDE!! :love008:

When I have a few minutes, I'll add the few photos I took to this thread.

Strangely, neither I nor Marie thought to have someone take OUR pictures there! LOL! We didn't attend together but did bump into each other.

The sellers I spoke to (there were many that seemed rather RUDE and not worth speaking to at all) all said that it had been a good show. Great news for me since I'm considering doing the next one. :)

There were certainly some very interesting people there -- and a fabulous vintage fashion show put on by ReVamp (revamp.com) where they modeled real and reproduction vintage.

It was a fun show. I was overwhelmed I think. Prices were quite high from what I am used to and all the dealers I spoke to were raving about what a great show it had been for them. It was a very nice day in So Ca. I think it was in the 70's that day. The venue was a nice older center. I was expecting a big convention center and I was pleasantly surprised as parking was close and you really could see it all in a few hours. It wasn't to crowded either but I went on Sunday and the dealers were saying that they were mobbed on Sat.
Lotsa fun!!

Fantastic pictures - and there is the Diane Lane outfit again on the lady in the third picture! I wonder how many colours it comes in!

Sorry gals -- I've been a bit pre-occupied with issues here at home and haven't had much time to get on the computer. (My sick GranPapa has been staying here since Friday.)

I thought I had taken at least one or two more pics... but it looks like this is all I have!

This was the booth of Unforgettable Vintage from San Francisco. That's not the owner, but her helper. The owner said she didn't like to be in pictures but her assistant didn't mind. Haha. Doesn't LOOK like she likes being in pictures, either! Anyway -- this gal bought a sequined 30's net bolero from me a month or so ago. It's one of many hanging on the rack all the way to the right, behind the gal. I sure wish I could command the price she was asking for it!

And this other picture - these gals are from San Diego. They were SO nice (friendly dealers seemed to be RARE at this show!) and we chatted for some time before I realized I had my camera!
I said something like "I'm a member of the Vintage Fashion Guild... do you mind if I take your picture to post in my report to the members?"
They both got VERY excited -- they'd apparently just been talking about the VFG the night before and how they really wanted to join, etc. They were extremely impressed by the guild.

Sorry... that's all I've got!
