Satin and lace petticoat -- 50s or different era?

I have this petticoat and I have never seen one like it -- so very southern belle to me but I just can't really date it. The look of it says 50s to me but I'd love to get some confirmation or hear other opinions. And what would one like this be used for? A wedding?

It has lace and satin and little flowers on the bottom. Very luxurious looking. At first I thought it was just a skirt but someone pointed out to me it would have gone under a dress.

What a lovely wedding slip. It even has the "something blue" bow. It looks like it would be 40s or 50s from the satin fabric and the waistband.
