Bought this morning in a GREAT buy from a lady who came into the shop Saturday....fab long red wool G. Beene, de la Renta, a Parnis, Trigiere, Ann Forgarty, 3 pairs of killer Beverly Feldman heels from the 80s and some smashing 50s rhinestone studded heels (multicolored stones!). Some cool gloves and scarves, and THIS.....

!!! It had spots all over the chiffon overlay, which didnt stop me from buying because the beaded sleeves were perfect. I tried to spot treat them but it was getting to be a huge hassle, lots of yardage of chiffon here! SO I took the risk & submerged it in slightly soapy water just up to under the sleeves, keeping a hairdryer nearby in case the water crept up. Came out perfect!!! I do wish I had also gotten the little nightie that likely went under it, but its still flipping amazing. She said today she found 2 more boxes of things (they were her aunts, and this lady is about in her 70s) so MAYBE the companion piece will turn up! This even has that sash cinching the back underneath, to leave the outer chiffon layer hanging loose & draping while defining the waist.

I'm usually a wuss about risky washing, thought I could handle it w/ spotting.....feeling quite pleased it didnt end disasterously!!!!! Ang

I love it when this happens! Sometimes, it's just worth taking a risk.

My friend Corrine who owns a shop says that the best thing about it is all the great stuff people bring her!

That was my thought exactly!

Some things really do wash up so much better
than expected.
