Thanks for previous answers, here is the next set of 4:

falconetto

lehner

mantero

maurice

The last one may be from the somewhat infamous Maurice that has been mentioned in other topic threads! As far as I can tell, so far, no one has come up with much info on this designer.

Help on dating any of these labels would be much appreciated.

thanks again.

Also, permission granted to the vintage fashion guild site to use any of these photos for the label database, I would be honored! They are all from scarves. If I should re-post in a different area, please let me know.

A Feb. 7, 1959 NY Times article has a detailed story about Falconetto. Here is an excerpt from the introduction:

"Advice to a struggling artist: Put art on cloth instead of on canvas. It may make you a fortune. Today's case in point is a young man from Fort Wayne, Ind., named Ken Scott. Like many another American painter, Mr. Scott went to Paris, dreaming of scaling the art world's peaks. Instead he "starved around" Europe for nine years. Two years ago, in Italy, he and a friend started their own textile concern, and now Mr. Scott is eating regularly...All of this is paid for by upholstery, scarf, and dress designs, which are manufactured under the name of Falconetto."

There is apparently still a century old Italian textile business owned by and named for the Mantero family and the business makes silk scarves:

Mantero: This 100-year-old silk maker has diversified in recent years and has added other fibers to its mix. Its fully integrated production cycle -- from yarn to finished product -- allows it to generate revenue from both the sale of fabrics and licenses, such as ties and scarves for fashion houses."
