Sears 70\'s ?? Polyester Shorts Mens ?? Ladies ??

Ok. First of all, I'm thinking 70's. These are polyester with terry cloth in the pockets. Is 70's right?

Secondly, I can't figure out if these are men's or ladies. I'm guessing because of the belt they are ladies. Is that right?

Third of all, what is that rubber stuff on the inside of the waist? Two rows of it go all the way around. It looks like the rubber stuff they put in dresses near the bust so it stays up. What would I call it??

Definately mens shorts by the name and sizing. Most likely a tennis short. The bands are to hold the shirt intact in the shorts when you move about.

I thought ladies too untill I noticed the rubber stuff, the rubber stuff seems to be more mens - I would think late 70's early 80s for them with the terry pockets - that's my guess anyways.
