I am seeking any information related to the label in this vintage dress. I found this striking dress at a consignment shop in Austin, Texas. The label reads "mister" (all lowercase) and then a capital letter L. I can't tell if the brand name is "mister L" or if the L is meant to signify a "Large." I would love to learn about the brand and look for any similar dresses. Thanks in advance!

Well, that find was helpful, as it confirmed whether the 'L' was a size or part of the name. Good find! That enabled me to find this, from a 1962 newspaper article: "NEW YORK - A new division has been formed by R & M Kaufmann, Inc. of Aurora, Ill., dress manufacturers. It will be called mister L and will produce budget-priced junior, misses, and half-sized dresses. Headquarters are on the third floor of 1539 Broadway. Lester E. Jacobson, a vice president of the parent company, has been appointed sales manager of the division."
