I found these two really cute State souvenir plates in a thrift shop here in Zurich about two years ago. These were the only two they had.

Has anyone of you seen plates like these before? Switzerland is probably not quite the place to look for them :hysterical:. I guess they were part of a set/collection with all states. Or might they have been available as single plates? There are no markings anywhere on the back. They're just so cute and decorative that I bought them, although I have more than enough table ware...

yep, souvenir ware has its own little niche of followers, too ~ plates, scarves, ashtrays, trays and tablecloths are pretty typical, then there are also the pillow covers that typically have fringe hems and are made of satin.

we find california, florida, and new york are the best sellers, for us, anyway. i think they're kitschy-cool!

I went through a stage where I thought these were such fun I would have one for every state and put them on a wall. I bought quite a few through eBay - some were better than others and now there are actually reproductions as well. I lost interest and gave all mine away!

I have just found the virtual needle in a haystack - a plate to match these two - this time Vermont! Considering there's no makers mark on these, so I could search for hours, this is almost a small miracle...! Now I just have to wait till it arrives, which I hope will be soon...
